Earth Day and World Gardening Day are celebrated to promote love and respect for nature while
highlighting the importance of a healthy and sustainable environment. These occasions encourage
children to connect with nature and develop a sense of responsibility towards caring for the Earth.
As part of the celebration, students were asked to bring one old shoe to school, which was creatively
transformed into a planter for a fun and meaningful gardening activity. This unique idea taught
children the value of recycling and reusing materials in an innovative way.
The teachers also organized an exciting messy play activity where mud was prepared, and the
children added seeds and water to create a mixture. The children then rolled the mixture into small
balls to make seed bombs. This was followed by a creative craft activity, where the seed bombs were
covered with colourful kite paper and pasted onto corrugated sheets with leaves, making them look
like beautiful flowers.
The teachers guided the children to plant their seed bombs in pots or gardens, helping them
understand the joy of nurturing plants and protecting nature.
The school was beautifully decorated according to the theme, creating a vibrant and eco-friendly
atmosphere for the celebration.
The day was filled with creativity, learning, and hands-on experiences, making it a memorable
celebration that inspired our tiny tots to care for Mother Earth.
